Stage 2 Drought Rescinded
The City of Houston rescinded Stage Two of the Drought Contingency Plan and returned to Stage One, effective December 14, 2023.
Stage One calls for the following voluntary water conservation efforts:
Limit outdoor watering to twice a week between the hours of 7PM and 5AM with the following schedule:
- Sundays and Thursdays for single-family residential customers with even-numbered street addresses
- Saturdays and Wednesdays for single-family residential customers with odd-numbered street addresses
- Tuesdays and Fridays for all other customers
Water customers are also reminded to continue everyday efforts to prevent the loss of water:
- Check and repair water leaks, including dripping faucets and running toilets
- Check sprinkler heads to make sure water is not spraying into the street or directly into a storm drain
These voluntary efforts will help Houston reduce water use by 5%. The public will be notified if Stage One water conservation measures have been lifted.
Harris County MUD #412 Boil Water Rescind Notice
On 09/10/2023, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required our public water system Harris County MUD #412, PWS ID 1013354 to issue a Boil Water Notice (BWN) to inform our customers that due to the presence of contaminants or an interruption in service, water from our system must be boiled prior to consumption.
Our system has taken the necessary corrective actions to restore adequate pressure, disinfectant levels, and/or bacteriological quality and has provided TCEQ with testing results that indicate that the water no longer requires boiling as of 09/11/2023.
If you have questions, contact Michael Thornhill at (832) 490-1607.
If a customer wishes to reach TCEQ, they may call 512-239-4691.
